At Hiker Trailers, we have always believed that adventure should be accessible, flexible, and built around real customers, not just products. Over the years, we have seen something interesting happen. Our trailers do not just get used. They get loved, customized, and passed along.
That reality is what led us to begin developing something we are excited to finally share, a Certified Pre Owned program.

As our community has grown, so has the number of Hiker Trailers changing hands in the secondary market. We regularly hear from customers who are looking to upgrade to a new build, interested in selling their trailer but unsure how to price or market it, or trying to buy a used Hiker but struggling to find trustworthy listings.
At the same time, we know that buying a used trailer can feel uncertain. Questions about condition, build quality, maintenance history, and modifications can make the process intimidating.
The goal of our Certified Pre Owned program is to bridge that gap.
We want to create a trusted, transparent pathway for both buyers and sellers that reflects the same standards we hold for our new builds.
While we are still refining the full program, our vision for certified trailers includes a structured inspection process, clear documentation of condition and features, verification of key systems and components, and honest representation of wear, modifications, and history.
We are not trying to make every used trailer feel like new. We are aiming to make every listing clear, accurate, and trustworthy.
Rather than rolling this out at full scale immediately, we are intentionally starting small.
Our initial phase will include a limited number of trailers and select models. This soft launch approach allows us to test and refine our inspection and certification process, understand pricing dynamics in the real market, improve how we present listings and communicate condition, and gather feedback directly from customers.
We believe the best systems are built iteratively, and this program is no different.

As part of this early phase, we are exploring a few options.
We are evaluating the possibility of accepting trade ins toward new builds. This would create a more seamless upgrade path for customers looking to move into a new configuration.
We are also considering offering consignment services, where we help market and sell your trailer on your behalf. This could include listing and exposure through our channels, assistance with pricing, and coordination with potential buyers.
In some cases, we may be interested in purchasing trailers directly for resale through the Certified Pre Owned program.
Because this is a soft launch, your input is incredibly valuable.
